Christmas Family Photoshoot in Amsterdam: Why October Is the Time to Book

Every year the same thing happens. In early December families message us hoping for a Christmas photoshoot, and by then most weekend slots are already gone.

If you want festive family photos for cards, gifts or your own wall, October is the sweet spot. You get your pick of dates and plenty of time to plan.

What a Christmas session at Panther Studios looks like

Sessions take place in our studio at Willem de Zwijgerlaan 350 in Westerpark, Amsterdam West.

It is on the third floor, warm inside, and easy to reach by tram or bike.

We set up a simple festive scene that feels cosy rather than cluttered. Think soft knits, a few warm lights and room for everyone to sit close together.

The studio has large windows for natural daylight, and we also work with professional studio flash. So your photos stay bright, even on the darkest December afternoon.

How to plan your family outfits

Pick two or three colours that sit well together, such as cream, deep green and burgundy. Avoid big logos and busy patterns, because they pull attention away from faces.

Bring a spare top for little ones. Chocolate and nerves both happen, and a quick change keeps the session relaxed.

Keeping young children happy

Book a time that fits naps and meals. A fed, rested toddler gives you far more smiles than one who is ready for bed.

We never force poses. We play, chat and give kids small tasks, and those natural moments usually turn into the favourite photos.

Getting your photos in time for the holidays

You receive your edited photos within 5 working days in a private online gallery. That leaves plenty of time to order cards, prints or a photo book before Christmas.

See the session details and book your date on our Christmas photoshoot page.

Frequently asked questions

When should we book a Christmas family photoshoot?

Book in October or early November. Weekend slots in late November and December fill up fast every year.

Can grandparents or a pet join the session?

Yes. Our studio fits larger groups comfortably, and calm dogs are welcome. Just let us know when you book so we can plan the set.

How long does a Christmas session take?

Most sessions take about 30 to 45 minutes. We keep it short and playful so children stay happy from start to finish.
